Mayoral Announcement 2025-26

Ripon City Council would like to announce that Councillor Jackie Crozier has been nominated as Mayor Elect for 2025-26.

Ripon City Council is pleased to announce the nomination of Councillor Jackie Crozier as Mayor Elect for the 2025-26 term. Cllr Crozier, representing the Spa Ward, will champion the city of Ripon in this prestigious role.

Cllr Crozier will be accompanied by her consort, Lorna Fassnidge, during her Mayoral year.

Born and educated in Ripon, Councillor Crozier has deep roots in the community, including her parents’ management of the historic Fleece Public House. After a successful career in the events industry, including serving as Festival Director of Manchester Pride, she returned to Ripon in 2018. Cllr Crozier now runs the award-winning Little Bird Artisan Markets and was elected to the City Council in 2022.

Councillor Crozier said: “I am delighted to represent the city I was born and bred in as Mayor. I look forward to championing our great city and being an advocate for our community.”

During her tenure, Cllr Crozier will focus on fundraising for St Michael’s Hospice who looked after her mum, and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. She has previously helped raise over £50,000 for various charities.

Ripon residents can anticipate a year of dedicated service from Councillor Crozier as she works to promote and enhance the city’s vibrant community.

The Annual Mayor Making Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, 7th May 2025, with the Mayor’s installation service at Ripon Cathedral on 11th May 2025.
